Most of this was recorded in the same funky Plaquemine, LA apartment where I recorded Asking For Trouble the following year. In fact, this project was the trial run for the Roland VS-800 Zip Disk multitrack recorder used for AFT.
There are a couple of tracks on this collection that first appeared on compilations. Specifically, this version of “Nightmare Town” was the lead-off track for a collection originally entitled Best of Vermont, but it was retitled Sullivan Square, and it’s still available from BigHeavyWorld Records and the Vermont Music Shop. “Lucy, Get Down” was recorded for a collection of songs about dogs called Man’s Best Friend. It was released by Sterling Pond Records, but it doesn’t seem to be available anymore.
